Salesforce announces New Integration User Licenses: Initial 5 free and Additionals at low costs

Salesforce has recently released a new type of user license, the Salesforce Integration User license, designed particularly for system-to-system integrations.

This license only provides API access, meaning that users assigned this license type cannot access the instance’s functionality or data through the user interface.

Permission sets based on Salesforce Integration APIs should be used alongside other permission sets to ensure access to a unique subset of data, thereby reducing the risk of a potential data leak. The new license will be available after March 14, 2023.

The first five free Salesforce Integration user licenses are free, while the additional ones will come at $10 per user per month, much cheaper than the previous integration licenses.
